The new Pirelli tire has been developed with technological progress and innovation in mind. It is ideal for high-end cars, including electric cars, such as Tesla vehicles or the Audi e-Tron. In fact, electric vehicles, which deliver their full torque from low revs, require maximum traction, especially in the low grip conditions typical of winter: including zero grips on ice. In addition to this, for the studded Ice Zero 2 tires, Pirelli engineers have also worked on reducing road noise, an inherent characteristic of this kind of tire. Noise comfort is an essential quality of an electric car. The Ice Zero 2 is offered in size from 16 to 22 inches.

Built around the studs

Designed with a new patented stud technology, the Pirelli Scorpion Ice Zero 2 features an asymmetric geometry and optimized stud distribution to provide continuous grip and low noise emissions. Its enhanced winter performance comes from one key factor: the studs. Compared to its previous generation, traction and braking have been improved. The Ice Zero 2 has been redesigned, made lighter and developed using 3D simulations and features a larger number of studs, from 130 to 190.

Enhanced grip and braking for absolute reliability

The design of the Ice Zero 2 and its new integrated stud technologies offer a new compound that helps stud retention and provides better transfer of grip to the tire, ensuring better braking and traction performance while enhancing its stability. The Ice Zero 2 also features a new tread pattern designed to enhance slippery, deep snow and ice conditions.

Exceptional handling and driving comfort

The Ice Zero 2 was built with specifics in mind: optimal handling and reliability, improved performance on all roads and noise reduction for a more peaceful driving experience. Like its previous generation, the Ice Zero 2 offers long-lasting performance and enhanced reliability thanks to specially developed technologies. It provides drivers new, stiffer blocks on the tread area and around the shoulder studs for improved handling, as well as multi-directional grooves and instant grip notches designed to provide balance and stability for traction and braking. Although designed for snow and ice conditions, the Ice Zero 2 has been improved for dry conditions by reducing the depth of the tread pattern and 3D channels on the shoulder. With its new directional tread, safety has been enhanced even in the most challenging conditions, and, according to Pirelli, it offers unique acoustic comfort for an exceptional driving experience.
