The Open Country R/T is a cross between an A/T tire and a popular M/T tire in Toyo's tire lineup. It is designed to handle mud, dirt, sand and rocks while offering great comfort on the road.
This tire is specifically designed to provide excellent performance in off-road conditions while offering good handling on the road but without the noise of M/T tires.
The Open Country R/T has a 3-ply construction and a more durable tread compound cut and chip resistant.
Off-road traction and grip are optimized with the serrated shoulder blocks that are crucial for these hybrid tires. It does an outstanding job of self-cleaning and getting rid of rocks, mud and other debris, which can be a problem when using low off-road tires.
Many Toyo Open Country R/T tires owners have found that the tread on these tires wears evenly and is extremely difficult to puncture, even when subjected to sharp objects, thanks partly to the 3-ply, cut- and chip-resistant compound that Toyo uses.

I recommend PMCtire if you want your tires delivered in the convenience of your home (fully assembled and balanced) especially if you DIY tire swaps or a home service auto mechanic. Purchased Michelin X-ice snow 215/50R17 XL95H and Ar One Black 17 x 7.5 (45mm offset) 5x114.3.
