A unique rubber compound is used in the tread, which Michelin claims reduces braking distances by up to 5%. This compound, combined with four wider circular grooves, helps improve the tire's grip on wet roads and prevents skidding due to hydroplaning.

The internal structure of the Primacy HP includes two steel belts reinforced with "BAZ" technology to improve ride quality while providing stability at high speeds.
