The ContiSportContact 5P from Continental is a high-performance summer tire designed to provide maximum grip on wet and dry roads. Designed for drivers of sports cars, coupes and high-end sedans, the Continental 5P has also been used as original equipment on vehicles such as the Audi S3 and many others.

The ContiSportContact 5P is designed to provide precise handling, cornering stability and short braking distances in both wet and dry conditions. However, like all summer tires, they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, snow or ice.

Technology for safety

Driving comfort is above average for a tire in this class, thanks in part to the softer tread design.

The high-performance tread compound uses Continental's Black Chilli technology, its formula of racing-grade carbon black, combined with other resins to improve wet and dry traction. The advantage of this unique compound is that it heats up faster and increases the flexibility and stiffness of the tire to enhance cornering capabilities and optimal handling.

Circular grooves help water flow through the footprint to resist hydroplaning, while transverse block edges divert water from the tread blocks to improve wet traction.

Driving on the Continental SportContact 5P can be exhilarating at times, especially in high-speed turns. The tires hold on like glue and are hard to pull off the road.
