Limited Mileage Warranty
A limited treadwear warranty covers Michelin passenger and light truck tires (See Section 1.2).
Passenger and light truck tires used in normal service on the vehicle on which they were originally installed and in accordance with the maintenance recommendations and safety notices contained in our passenger and light truck tire limited warranty are warranted against defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original tread, or six years from the date of purchase, whichever occurs first. At that time, all warranties expressed or implied expire. Replacement will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions described below.
A tire that has become unserviceable as a result of a condition covered by this limited warranty against defects in workmanship or materials will be replaced with a comparable new tire, free of charge, when 2/32" (1.6 mm) or less of the original tread is worn away (or 25% or less, whichever is more beneficial to the user) and within 12 months of the date of purchase. Assembly and balancing are included. You pay the cost of any other services and applicable taxes. When more than 2/32" of the original tread has been worn (or 25% or less, whichever is more beneficial to the user) and after 12 months from the date of purchase, you must pay the replacement cost of a comparable new tire on a pro-rata basis. The dealer will determine the cost by multiplying the percentage of wear by the current list price of the base price. You pay for mounting, balancing and any other services and applicable taxes.
Where proof of purchase is unavailable, the 6-year period begins with the DOT number found on the sidewall of each tire.
This warranty does not cover tires removed from service due to a road hazard injury, such as a cut, pinch, impact damage, puncture or other damage such as improper maintenance, rapid and uneven wear caused by vehicle irregularities, accidents, fire, tire tampering, etc.
My tire has a flat. Does the Michelin warranty cover it?
Air loss is covered under warranty, but this can only be determined after examination by a tire professional and an authorized Michelin dealer.
Here are some common reasons why sudden or slow air loss is not covered by a warranty:
Road break (punctures, cuts, damage to inner sealant, cords and sidewall rubber from impact).
Loss of air from a damaged, ill-fitting or aged rubber valve.
Section 1 and 2
