Description

General Tire's Altimax RT45, released in July 2022, is an all-season tire designed to provide enhanced traction and handling in all seasons, with a more comfortable ride and extended tread life for drivers of coupes, sedans, SUVs, minivans and crossovers.

  • Responsive handling on wet and dry roads
  • Optimal traction in light snow
  • Low rolling noise

The high-silica tread compound and symmetrical tread pattern are combined with what General Tire calls advanced siping technology that enhances wet and dry traction and rides comfort.

The unique design developed by General Tire engineers ensures long tread life.

The tire replacement indicator visually informs consumers when tires need to be replaced.

The tread letters fade to "Replace Tire Monitoring" (RTM) when the tread depth reaches 2/32, indicating that a tire change is needed.

The system also confirms suitability for different driving conditions through defined performance indicators. The defined performance indicators are visible letters molded into the second rib of the outer shoulder to alert drivers to the tire's performance levels.

A visual "RTM" indicates that the tire has the proper tread depth for dry conditions, wet roads, and snow. Once the "R" is worn off, the remaining "TM" indicates that the tire has only adequate tread depth for dry and most wet roads. Once both "R" and "T" are worn, the remaining "M" indicates that the tire has adequate tread depth for dry conditions only.

The Altimax RT45's wide, high-angle circumferential grooves help keep water away from the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance.

The design technology provides biting edges for excellent traction on snow and ice without reducing the rigidity of the tread elements.

Visual alignment indicators provide customers with visual feedback on vehicle alignment.

The Altimax RT45 tire features visual alignment indicators (VAI). Located on both sides of the tread, the indicators are cues to check whether the tires are wearing evenly, assuring the driver of proper alignment, or wearing unevenly, alerting the driver to check wheel alignment.

Available in 136 sizes, in rim diameters from 14 to 20 inches, the Altimax RT45 tire is ideal for a wide range of vehicles including: the Chevrolet Bolt EV, Dodge GrandCaravan, Ford Edge, Honda Accord, Civic and Odyssey, Jeep Compass, Subaru Outback, Toyota Camry and Sienna, and many others.
