TPMS - Tire pressure monitoring system

Photos may differ from actual product.

TPMS or Tire Pressure Monitoring is an electronic system designed to monitor air pressure inside the pneumatic tires. TPMS report real-time tire-pressure information to the driver of the vehicle, either via a gauge, a pictogram display, or a simple low-pressure warning light.

ITM Uni-sensor TPMS are the best alternative to your original TPMS parts.

We guarantee every TPMS programmed will work on your vehicle if your vehicle supports TPMS, although some vehicle might need a reprogramming to use aftermarket TPMS. Please read our section related to TPMS

  • OE replacement sensor with most advanced German design

Direct TPMS have the sensors mounted on the inside of the rims, instead of the valve stem. These electronic sensors transmit information to the dashboard via radio frequency. Such system aims to cope with the high and low pressure related to variations in temperature and frictions associated with these changes, and most importantly, to detect under-inflation that could lead to the loss of vehicle control.

At PMCtire, we customize programmable TPMS at the time of wheels installation based on the information of your vehicle (year, brand, model, option) as it is an original TPMS right from the manufacturer.

Depending on the brand and model of your vehicle, you will have to follow a certain procedure for your car to detect the TPMS. Some models require the driver to speed up to 20 km/h or above, while others may need you to play with the dashboard configuration in order to turn on the detection or to reset the connection. Other models, such as Toyota and Lexus, require a reboot with a tool that only qualified garages and dealers own.

Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Subaru, and Honda started to launch their CR-V only in 2013, all using a tire-pressure monitor system other than the TPMS. Thus, owners of these vehicles won't need to ask for a TPMS.
